Your Story is Your Superpower
Listen to me when I say this: the reason you think you can’t do something is the very reason that you should.
There is a huge misconception that our faults and traumas are obstacles to our dreams. The reality is that these things are the propellers for success. You are far more qualified to teach, help and lead from a place of experience- good and bad- than somebody who doesn’t have that personal connection.
Humans are absolute fiends for connection. It’s what makes our whole world go round. We all want to feel like we belong somewhere, right? That’s why it is essential for you to harness your truth and share it with the world. You never know who might be connecting to it.
With that being said, your story is your greatest superpower!
As a business operator, your story IS your brand. Your audience wants to connect with YOU. They want to know what made you who you are and what gives you the right to do what you do. Above all else, they want to know how similar and different you are to them. Hearing your upbringing, successes and setbacks allows your audience to say “hey, if this person can do it and they’ve experienced XYZ, then I can too!”.
Think about this: are you more likely to take lessons from a baseball coach that played in the minor leagues or someone who has never played baseball at all? Do you trust a sobriety coach that has never had addiction issues or someone who has lost everything and overcome it?
You want to work with people who prove your own capability to you!
Share your story. Listen and learn from others. You never know who you’re inspiring.
